so once agian we have been lazy as fuck, i guess we all can come up with 1000 excuses each but the bottom line i suppose is that we have been lazy, and of course crazy busy, it dosent exactly help not having a internet connection at home, i'm sittin in a cafe with free wifi writing this...

well well, in a month or so me and my girl will move in to our new apartment and then we will finally get a decent internet connection.

as most of you know, i moved to Stockholm in august, we have been living in a shoebox since then and i guess thats been ok but what hurt the most was that my beloved cd players did't fit so that's why i tried out some digital dj:ing.

I just downloaded Virtual Dj for free in the itunes appstore and just been playing for it for a couple of days, reel fun exept you get no feeling whatsoever, anyways, it helped me miss playing soo much.

Okay so we had a pretty fantastic summer over here in the north of sweden... For 1.5 month we had the absolut best weather of whole sweden but as soon as August began all we've seen is pissy fuckin rain and cold winds. 1.5 month of summer feels really too short and i'm longing to get back those sunny days. Feeling all inspired i've been listening and dreamin away to this tune of the joneses in a really funky the revenge edit.

I recently came home from New york and had the best two weeks. We managed to see Soft Rocks & Phil south that where playing at the fancy standard hotel.
Tim Sweeney & DJ Sprinkles/Terre Thaemlitz at the cameo gallery. Sprinkles ended the night and I really liked his set.
Sean Thomas at the Brooklyn shakedown club, great night.

DJ Harvey at santos party house which was pretty amazing. Here is a video from the night that shows the good vibe and how great it was.

Back from sonar and barcelona. We had some intensive 32 hours over in barcelona so it was quite hard to choose what to go to and what to see. Let´s say we didn't really manage to see anything really properlt exept from the fantastic David Rodigan. Otherwize the set from luciano was fantastic. Just wished it didn't take so much time to get beer tix and search for friends so i could focus more on the dancin & the music. We'll put some more infos and pics later

I always like to promote swedish artists i mean we're so fuckin great and i think the whole world should know it :D. Sooo.
Almost sober up from the Weekend in Stockholm at dans dakar.
Many highs and even a couple of lows....

On Friday There was an official Pre party at Hornstull Strand with Style of Eye headlining and a bunch of local people supporting but unfortynatly the sound was so shiet so it was almost impossible to get in a good party mood....

But on Saturaday the Sun was shining, temperature was perfect and it turned out to be just one of those perfect days!

In my opinion tilliander and Retro/grade should have played later, we missed them both beacause they were so fucking early.

The first gig we saw was;
MRTN- as always, solid brickhard electrobangers, mabye a little to early but he still rocked a solid dansfloor, to bad for him, almost everybody wnt to see CRystal Castles towards the end of their set.

so did we, and of course, they are great, mabye its music better suited for a small club but still great!

Trentemöller-Just Pure magic, he had Mikael Simpson and Nenrik Vibskov with him an it everything was just right, perfect!

Tiga-Just Banging, he's a true champion!

Skudge-really blurry and sketchy, i really like their stuff but we just stood there asking ourselfs if they begun or not, really a shame, really looking forward to this..

But the main surpris was the love Kornel Kovacs was spreading in the really crappy Tält stage, the sound was really crappy in there but he played great.
The thing i really like about him is that it shows how much he really likes what he plays and that he loves to play, pure love.

haha, funny, i just saw that the user who posted that video is Colin Zeal, i read his blog a couple of times and he writes super fun about travelling to berlin and clubbing (Berghain)

And later We Went to Kruthuset for some lovely Deep house cortesy of Sergio, really nice, we really looked forward to more of kornel but we went home early, around 7....

all in all, A super first edition of of this Festival.

Thestickup had a little chit-chat with Stockholm based producer and DJ Axel Boman. He started out producing music during his time in artschool 7 years ago and he has been DJing since the age of 14. Back in the days when it still was cool to schratch. Last year he had big success with the release of the fantastic Purple Drank EP on Pampa records that managed to get in 6th place of Resident Advisors top 100 tunes of 2010 !!

In the beginning of this year the dannish label tartlet records released the fantastic Daemon EP of Kenton Slash Demon that we wrote about earlier. What we didn't mention was the great remix of Axel that is a great complement to the original

During this summer we can expect a taster for his forthcoming album on glass table records. An EP on the own label Studio Barnhus that he runs together with friends Kornel Kovacs & Petter (Border Comunity)

If u just can't get enough of Axel you should go visit his summer club "Ibiza" on Slakthuset in Stockholm.

Axel was also kind enough to share this tune with us. This was made in a collaboration with his friend Andreas Ermanbriks during 2009 where they made a few techno/country gigs. When i listened through his tracks this was something that really cought my attention

It was first released in 2008 and i got in touch with it when reboot made an edit of the revenge remix back in summer 2009. I see it everywhere, i hear it everywhere. Jamie Jones & Lee foss alias Hot Natured recently released the fantastic EP called forward motion. It was released recently on their label hot creations and the title track is what i'm talkin about. It has the big bassline it has the catchy vocals by ali love and it's still deeep ! I've been checkin endless rotation site wich is a site where dj's can chart their tracks. And the most charted track last 2 weeks have been this badass. I can only say i love it and i think we might have a big tune of the year warning on this one.
